Welcome to Shifty Bench's site!

Hello, dear readers/listeners, Jimmy here to welcome you to the same site I've had for a while but now with added personalized domain name. Just who is Shifty Bench, I hear you ask? Then I wonder just how it is that I can actually hear you... anyway, Shifty Bench be me. It's a name I have had online for about twenty years, when I frequented the BBC's Buffy messageboards. I took the name from a line episode 2 of season 4 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer in which Buffy, annoyed, destroys a bench with a kick and Oz retorts with this-

Needless to say, the name is the greatest single achievement in my life, I never aimed high. So, for a while, I was known as Shifty Bench on other sites and I really liked it until a few years ago when I decided to go back to the name my parents (but mostly my dad, mum thought I looked like a Robert) gave me. When I wanted to do more with this site and add more podcasts, rather than just Drop the Pilot, I thought I would use my former Buffy related moniker. Mostly because, any domain name related to my actual name was already used. For the time being, starting in June, "So, What's the Problem" will be released one Monday and "Drop the Pilot" will be out the Monday after, rinse and repeat.

I am so proud of what I have done so far with Drop the Pilot with the help of my wonderful co-hosts but really want to expand the site and do more podcasts. There are only so many pilots out there to cover. I have more podcasts planned, which may or may not come to fruition but I will also use this site to post blog entries of stuff I like to talk about. I hope you enjoy what we have coming up for you and if you have any ideas for stuff to cover or just general feedback, I also have a new address, contact@shiftybench.co.uk so, feel free to drop us a line as the kids say... in the 1960s. I imagine, I wasn't born yet. Anyhoo, thanks for reading, if indeed you got this far and I'll speak to you next time.
